Short-Term Forecasting of Covid-19 Hospitalizations Early in the Pandemic
There was great uncertainty on how the spread of Covid-19 would proceed in spring of 2020. Different models that were published showed large differences in predictions and there was a need for creating short term prognoses based on easily obtainable data sources. In the article ‘Nowcasting (Short-Term Forecasting) of COVID-19 Hospitalizations Using Syndromic Healthcare Data, Sweden, 2020’ describes the work on developing forecasts based on 1177-data, that contributed to the analysis of the Covid-19 situation in Region Östergötland.
